  • Jane can’t swim yet. 最多有2种时间,can 现在、could过去
  • She’ll be able to swim in a few months’ time. 将来时中表示“能力”
manage to 过去有能力做(强调虽然困难很大,但仍然做到了… ) was able to 过去有能力做(并且做到了)
He managed to finish the job yesterday. (暗示他克服了不少困难才完成) He was able to finish the job yesterday. (表示可能)manage to 与 be able to 经常可以互换
