Mr. James Scott owns a garage in Silbury and has recently bought another one in Pinhurst. Although the two places are only five miles apart, he cannot get a telephone for the new garage, so he has bought twelve pigeons to send messages. Yesterday, one of the pigeons carried the first message between the garages in only three minutes. So far, Mr. Scott has successfully sent a great many requests for spare parts from one to the other. In this way, he has started his own private "telephone" service.
