Gustavus Adolphus ^{古斯塔夫·阿道夫}

Gustavus Adolphus (1594-1632) king of Sweden whose victories in battle made Sweden a European power; his domestic reforms made Sweden a modern state; in 1630 he intervened on the Protestant side of the Thirty Years’ War and was killed in the battle of Lützen.

Thirty Years’ War ^{三十年战争}

A series of wars in central Europe beginning in 1618 that stemmed from conflict between Protestants and Catholics and political struggles between the Holy Roman Empire and other powers. It ended with the Peace of Westphalia (1648).
