Joe Sanders owns the most beautiful garden in the town and wins the Nicest Garden Competition every year. Although Bill Frith has a larger garden, works harder and grows more flowers and vegetables, Joe’s garden is far more attractive. He has made neat paths and built a wooden bridge over a pond, which makes his garden unique. The writer, Susan, also loves gardens, but she does not enjoy hard work or watering plants. She takes part in the match every time, yet she always gets a small present for having the worst garden in the neighborhood.
