乔治和肯来到车站，准备搭乘火车前往伦敦。下一趟列车将于八点十九分发车。肯说他们还有充裕的时间，所以他想去一家酒吧喝一杯。乔治同意了，但后来他又说他们最好现在就回去。他们跑回了站台，但一名行李员拦住了他们。行李员说他们刚刚错过了火车。为什么？因为车站的时钟慢了十分钟！下一趟列车不会很快就来了。它还要再过五个小时才出发。乔治对肯非常生气。
George and Ken arrived at the station to catch a train to London. The next train will leave at eight nineteen. Ken said that they had got a lot of time, so he wanted to have a drink at a bar. George agreed, but later he said that they had better go back now. They ran back to the platform, but a porter stopped them. The porter said that they had just missed the train. Why? Because the station clock was ten minutes slow! The next train will not come soon. It will only leave in five hours' time. George was very angry with Ken.
